For Thanksgiving this year, neither Sam or I were able to make it home – our families live on the other side of the country. We wanted to make the best of the time we had off from work, so we decided to head up to Banff National Park in Alberta for the long weekend. This area is famously known for its crystal blue lakes that millions come to see in the summer. Knowing the lakes would be frozen over, I didn’t know what to expect – but as we drove through forests and parkways, I was blown away by the breathtaking winter beauty that surrounds this area. Between the low winter light, snow dustings, and the fog that cuts through the trees, you feel like you’re in your very own snow globe.
